Dear Friends of the Winton Woods Educational Foundation,
It is hard to believe that almost two years ago, on July 31st, 2021, we lost a WWEF Board member, a founding father of the Foundation, and a good friend, John Pennycuff.
John’s highest priority was supporting world-class public education both at a local level as a Winton Woods School District Board member and president for 26 years and as a member and then president of the Ohio School Boards Association until 2015.
John was instrumental in helping establish the Winton Woods Educational Foundation in 2006. When his service with the School Board and State Association was completed, John came back to the Foundation to act as our Treasurer.
His dear wife Mary, who preceded John in 2020, expedited the WWEF grant request with the Matinee Musical Non-Profit Organization, helped the Foundation fund grants to the WW School District music department totaling $44,300 as of this year.
The Pennycuff’s exemplified charitable giving to causes near and dear to their hearts.
The Winton Woods Educational Foundation was proud to honor John and Mary with a Memorial Plaque that now hangs just outside the music department hallway in the North Campus building.
When you are in the building, please take a moment to visit the tribute and honor the memory of two generous and caring supporters of The Winton Woods Family.
